Who Manages? Analyzing Third Party Identity & Performance in Low Level Intrastate Conflict
Awarded to Molly Melin (graduate student), The Folke Bernadotte Academy, $7,277
An inquiry into the processes of conflict management requires consideration of two questions: (1) Why are there variations in the identity and method of outside involvement across conflicts; (2) What are the results of this variation on the effectiveness of third party management efforts. This project examines how an intermediary's choice to manage intrastate conflict affects possibilities for the establishment of a lasting resolution.
