Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation
The Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation is a systemwide program based at UC San Diego that supports research and teaching on causes of international conflict and the opportunities to promote international cooperation. IGCC research and teaching grants, available on a competitive basis to UC Academic Senate members, are designed to stimulate independent research and education projects on international issues of contemporary importance. IGCC also supports dissertation research.
The campus IGCC program is housed at the Institute of Governmental Affairs and directed by Alan Olmstead, Director of IGA (with input and assistance from a faculty committee). The program provides support to junior faculty engaged in research on international conflict and cooperation through the IGA Junior Faculty Research Program. IGCC also holds workshops on grant writing for faculty and graduate students interested in applying to the systemwide program for support, and sponsors an active public affairs program on the campus.
