Economy, Justice and Society (EJS)
Economy, Justice and Society (EJS) is an interdisciplinary program involving faculty in the departments of economics, political science, and sociology. The program focuses on social, cultural and political influences on the economic success of individuals and groups. Marianne Page, Professor of Economics, directs the program. She is assisted by a faculty committee consisting of Eric Grodsky (Sociology), Michal Kurlaender (School of Education), Kimberlee Shauman (Sociology), Randolph Siverson (Political Science), and Ann Stevens (Economics).
EJS sponsors an interdisciplinary graduate student retreat. The retreat allows graduate students and post-docs to present work in progress in an informal setting. The participating faculty also discuss such issues as finding research topics, bringing these projects to fruition, and how best to prepare for the job market.
The program also sponsors an active seminar series, and an annual topically-focused conference,
held each spring.
