Using Data Analysis in Undergraduate Instruction

Nesstar & Undergraduate Quantitative Instruction

The biggest obstacle to teaching statistical analysis in an undergraduate setting is dealing with data and statistical software. The SSDS NESSTAR server removes these impediments by providing a seamless environment where instructors can easily distribute data via the WWW, and students can perform sophisticated quantitative analyses without having to use expensive and complicated statistical applications.

The SSDS maintains a NESSTAR server which allows faculty to easily provide data, complete with online documentation and an analytical statistical engine, to quantitatively-oriented classes of any size.

The NESSTAR server delivers prepared datasets via the World Wide Web and allows students to interact and analyze the data through a simple Web browser.

For more information and access to the NESSTAR server, please contact John Daniels.
